    Lynnmcd.

    Make sure it is wireless. If it has wires running to the furnace i.e.. Small wires that look like telephone wires, it probably doesn't have batteries. If it is a wireless thermostat you should be able to find a small access panel somewhere. It may have to come off the wall. The batterys may be in back. Do you know the model #. Hope this helps

I am hoping someone can answer my question. I have a digital maple chase thermostat and have it set to auto cool at 74 degrees. I noticed when it does not get over 74 and the air does not kick on for a few hours (more like 5 hours) that it resets itself to 78. Does anyone know why it does this?
