    1099-INT for non residents
    Dear Tax Experts,
I'm from Italy and I started to work in Texas with a J1 visa in November 2010.
In January 2010 I opened a checking account while I was in the US with a tourist visa, and now I've received a 1099-INT form. Federal taxes has already been withheld from the bank.
Which form do I need to file? 1040-NR or 1040-NR EZ?
Are these interests taxable or tax-exempt?
    Thank you!

Bank interest is nontaxable for nonresidents. You will file Form 1040NR.
