    Motrin-iibuprofen
    How often can I give motrin-iibuprofen to a 10 yr old for fever which started on Monday morning. This is the 3rd day. I have given every 6 hrs.

    For a fever you alternate Tylenol and Motrin. I'll give you an example...

    At noon give tylenol

    At two give motrin

    At four give tylenol

    At 6 give motrin.


    However, since this is the 3rd day with the fever, you need to take him to the pediatrician/family doctor to find out where the infection is. Get it properly diagnosed and treated. Fevers lasting over 48 hours usually indicate an infection and not a virus.
