    Why does a 1998 mercury tracer stop then restart gas filter was changed
    Was driving and it would stall then stop then it restarts, gas filter was changed seamed to help then it started again. Help please am a widow and am not a mechanic

    If the problem persists, check the ignition switch for wear or pitting. Your best bet is likely to take it to your local Ford dealer--they will be most familiar with your car's systems.
