G4 visa - duration of stay
    Hi
My G4 visa is valid until June 2011. I have completed my contract with the international organisation. However, my I 94 card has been stamped as D/S. In this case, do I have to leave the country before the visa expires or I can stay in USA as long as I want?

There are no nonimmigrant visa classifications that allow you to stay as long as you want. Your I-94 is annotated "D/S" meaning "duration of status". This is a non-date specific I-94 validity period.

As long as you are employed by the organization, you are in valid G-4 status. After completion, you have a reasonable amount of time to leave the US. Typically 10-30 days.

    NYcityboy:

I posted a question on the link below just over a week ago and you were one of two persons who responded. I posted another question to you specifically and a follow up question to Tufa4311, but have not been able to get your attention since. I am looking forward to your input on this, as I was told by an immigration attorney that a child cannot derive citizenship through step-parent/child relationship.

Too, can you provide me another perspective on my second set of questions to Tufa4311?

    Thanks.
