Heat pump or forced air
The outside fan comes on and every few minutes the contactor makes a humming sound. The compressor is not coming on. I think that the dual capacitor is working OK. Not sure about the low pressure switch...
I have been away from my house for the last 6 months and just got back this weekend. I tried turning on my AC and noticed the breaker was tripped. I reset the breaker and it tripped again. I had a technician look at the unit and he concluded that the compressor was shorted and need to be replaced....
