Brother in law going to prison, how does his power of Atty evict people living there
My brother in law is in prison & wants the person living in his house to be evicted cause she will not leave so his brother can rent the house out to someone, she has never pd rent or anything, his brother has power of Attorny, what do we do, she will not leave, and she is a drunk woman rippping up the house & selling his things to get money to drink, she has no lease, no job, pays nothing, only been there like 2 months, the owner that is going to prison let her stay there a couple months to help her out, no lease or anything w/her.? HELP! SHE CLAIMS IT WILL TAKE US 6 MONTHS TO GET HER OUT OF THERE, WE SAID WE WILL TURN OF ALL UTILITIES, SAID SHE STILL WILL STAY, REMEMBER THIS WOMAN IS BAD ALCOHOLIC!

Evict squatters while owner went to prison in the state of Florida

Start by asking her to leave which she will probably say no but start there. If she won't leave send her a 30 day to vacate letter registered return receipt requested. If she still won't leave the evict her following Florida law. Florida Landlord/Tenant Law Division of Consumer Services, DOACS

Do not shut off utilities, that would open up a suit for illegal eviction. Follow the guidelines on the site you were giving a link to.
