I am a high school Freshman and I'm ready to give up in life and die. My eighth grade year I was so fed up with my om and I decidd to do something about her attitude twords me. I became a defiant student... did not work but hey I got attention at least. I trid being the average student... well the teachers liked me. I went as far as the straight a student and I played spsports... did it wrk... no. did she come to my games. in total maybe 4 or 5.. Did she respond to m grades. of course not. And then she wonders why I don't tlk to her.. this year I lettered in basketball... nada. A.P classes... nothing. Good grades... forget it.. I've tld her how I feel and she calls me a drama queen.. what should I do. what can I do.

Secondly, you can't do anything but talk to her. You can't force her to pay attention, you can't force her to come to your extra curricular activities, you just can't, you're a child!

Is this worth dying over? Absolutely not. I think you need to focus on different aspects of your relationship and worry less about getting all the attention. Usually when people say they want to die it's because they're just seeking attention and are in fact being "drama queens".

The way you portray yourself confirms that. You are defiant, rebellious and want attention so bad you're willing to change who you are to get it. Seeking approval from your mother shouldn't be a goal, be confident in the fact that what you're doing is right and focus on things a freshman should be focusing on.

Some moms are more into things like that, and some aren't. I can guarantee she loves you, but there are all sorts of types of parents. Sometimes they get very caught up in their own lives. Some parents push and push and 4 As and 1 B report card would be punished. They come in all shapes and forms. Most likely she will never change, and this is going to be part of what makes you the person you will be.

But most of all, be proud of all you have accomplished for YOU! Being a straight A student, doing great in sports is all really great things that will help you all through your life. You should be very proud of yourself. Don't give up.

This is not worth dying over. You should be congratulated on your extracurriculars nad your grades. So Congratulations! You seem like a great person, student, and even a daughter. Even though your mom seems not to care, you will never be able to forgive yourself if you quit doing good in school and quit your sports. I am sorry about how your mom is but that is no reason to quit life. I hope it gets better for you.

Ithink thsat you should do good and whenever you accomplish something good and she says "I taught her that" you look at her and say no you ignored me my whole life then that will wake her up.
