Upset at raising child with no help
It boggles my mind how we seem to forget who took care of the child before she turned eighteen, who went to the doctor when they were sick, who bought the medicine that wasn't covered under insurance, who stayed up all night when they were sick, who fed and clothed them when the child support didn't come, I think we losing focus here, I told my daughter who is twenty now that for 20 years throughout the summer I didn't receive any child support at all, from July to September I had to fend for her and her sister, the father didn't give me a dime, he only paid through the courts during the school year because he was a teacher, the summer I was on my own, now I fed, clothe, and kept a roof over our heads, while he did his thing, so now just because she is twenty I am suppose to forget all the monies I put out and turn the money over to her, is it fair, If I could have let her stay with him for the summer over the last twenty years I would have and let him see how hard it was keeping our head above water, I think men get away with so much, we never stop being moms, but men stop being dads whenever they want to and society helps with that, and it's not at all fair. I need to hear some feed back, I give my daughter 100 dollars of the child support I still receive, because she not with me and is in school, it's only 300 bucks, I feel I am entitled to the other 200 for supporting her when he didn't, I had to get all of the school supplies he never bought a pencil, pen, notebook, outside of the money I receive for her, clothes, bus tickets, etc. etc, the list goes on and on, am I wrong for feeling this way please be honest I welcome your opinions. With all moms have to do, If he wanted to switch and he take the kids and I pay cs, believe me he got off easy.

Moved from a piggyback in Family Law.

You're not really inquiring about the law--you're just looking for feedback on the unfairness of how parenting in this society works, correct?

Child support is provided to the custodial parent for raising the child. The child is not entitled to any of it.

But I don't understand how he didn't pay during the summer. What did your support order say? Did it say x/month except during the summer? If it only specified x/month, then he owed support year round. And if he didn't pay it, then he is in arrears and he continues to pay until the arrears are made up.
