Help! I am under investagation of stealing from an Employer under 5000
    Hello,

To anyone that can help me please. I went into work last week and I was told I am being let go from work for stealing but they said it could be a big misunderstanding. I will explain.
I am also from Canada and I am over 19+ and this is my first offense ever with the law and I have a clean record. The amount they say is over 2000 dollars but under 5000

How it all started, it was like a month or so into my new job. One day my boss told me if I wanted to stay longer you can so you can make more money. So I was like OK. I could use the extra hours and by him telling me that I thought I could stay extra for all of my shifts.

That when I put my hours in they have to be approved by a supervisor and my Boss is my supervisor. So I did and they always got approved all the time. Then 5 months later they are checking the budget for the hours and they saw mine where more then everyone else a lot more. So when I went to work last week they told me about the hours problem and want me to come in next week to talk to them about it.

The only thing they have is what's on paper on what they told me. At times I did leave early at work but not all the time. They do have cameras at my work place. Do they just have to show one day me leaving early? And that's all they need to arrest me? Or do they have to show every day if I did leave early and how many times. But the thing is that I didn't physical take anything from work and I did get approved all the time from pay roll for my hours. Like I said earlier they need a supervisor approval and if payroll didn't contact my supervisor to get approval and they just did it, would I still be in trouble? Because if my boss was contacted to approve of my hours and they told him what hours I would be doing he would have came to me sooner and asked me what's is going on and it would have been fixed a long time ago.

I am going into my work place Today and see what is going to happen. Any help will be great! And Many thanks yous!

I have been reading up a lot of threads on here with Theft under 5000 to see what will happen if anything ever did. Also when I was reading the treads I saw that I should not confess anything or say anything that can give them evidence until I talk to a lawyer or a legal Representative and to plea not Guilty until I see a lawyer about my situation.

I am very scared and nervous.
