    Can a Credit Card Company sue for garnishment & vehicles if you are on disability?
    My Dad died a couple of years ago and left my step mom with very little. She got very sick and a stepdaughter took over her affairs. During this time the stepdaughter put 7000.00 of debt on her credit card. Now the Credit Card Co. is threatening to garnish her wages & take her car (she owes 600.00) & my Dad's old truck (paid for 1980's). She is on disability and gets very little social security. This is her only income. Can they do this?

    The may be able to sue and get a judgment. They will not be able to garnish disability and are unlikely to attach older cars.
