    Installing a combo meter main panel
    I'm installing a Homeline combo meter main panel and have concerns about my circuits entering the house. I see no good way to install watertight fitting between the panel and inside wall. Any ideas what is acceptable by code? I'd like to use a PVC MA.

    If you are not experienced working with electricity than please contact an electrician.

    Working with live service lines can leave you dead.

    Great advice! I agree.

    However, I am experienced, but on commercial/industrial, not residential. I'll admit, it's been about 5 years since I've been in the field. Also, there is no 'service', this is the main panel/meter that I'm installing on new construction. I have a permit.

    I'm just not quite sure of the best method of 'watertighting' the fitting between the panel (out the back) and the dwelling.

    I assume you mean to keep the panel watertight, and not the holes into the building.

    The panel you have should be rated NEMA 3 R, or Rain Tight. The knockouts on the back of the panel are all near the bottom, I believe. These raceway entries do not need to be watertight.

    Any water that will collect in the panel will be at the bottom of the panel, and not above near the live parts. The panel will have weep holes in the bottom to allow any collected water to drain.

    If you want to water tight the hole into the building, best you can do is drill a hole slightly pitched to the outside to allow water to only drain to the exterior, and caulk around the raceway.

    PVC conduit and fittings will be fine.
