Water shut-off during 7 day winter vacation?
Going on 7 day vacation from deep winter zone, have quarter turn valve to shut off water. Should I shut off outside water source, leaving home heated, or at 0 Fahrenheit, is there risk of pipes freezing without water pressure?

Leave the heat on... ANY water, under pressure or not can and will freeze. Including water in your toilet... which will break... in the pipes.. which will break... and in the sink traps which might break. Then there is the water heater... turn it off or way down if you turn off the water to the house.

By all means turn it off... but leave the heat on.
