    Married filing jointly h1b wife in india
    Hello,

    I am on H1B and my wife is in india. We got married on nov 2010.
    Which is the best option below

    1 - Can I file for married jointly or married separately.

    Please advice.

    Almost for sure, filing jointly is the best course of action, even it will take a bit of work to make it happen with your wife in India.

    Yes, you can file joint return as residents even when your spouse has never been to U.S. Both must declare worldwide income. You will attach W-7 (ITIN application) for your spouse with the joint return. Your U.S. Tax Return: The U.S. Visas
