I am 14 and I am probably an alto I would say but my sister said I would go far if I had a vocal coach but the problem is I can't afford it can someone give me some tips.

What about joining some choirs or singing groups? Many of them have good teachers who can give you the basics, and also tell you if it's worth getting a private teacher. The trouble with family is that they love you, so it's hard for them to be objective about your ability.

If you join the church choir, and are being given solos, then it's confirmation that your voice may take you far.

Well thanks but I have already joind choirs and church stuff so if u have any other tips let me know :)

So what happens in the choirs? Are you the first person they ask to do solos? A vocal coach can be very helpful, but a great voice will be obvious even without it.
