    Hello p:

Try it a little softer... Dogs ordinarily LOVE to be groomed, unless you're pushing too hard.

    Need a little more detail.

When does he try to bite? When you just go to brush him or when you try to use an electric product like a hairdryer or clippers?

The best way I have found to get them used to be groomed is to desensitise them to the products/items you are using.

If it's the brush that makes him anxious and try to bite then you need to make the brush out to be something wonderful.

Start by just putting the brush on the ground and putting a few treats on top of it. Let the dog eat the treats off the brush.
Then you can move onto just touching the dog with the brush, not moving it, just touching while feeding a treat.

Then finally just slowly move the brush alone the dogs back or legs while constantly feeding treats.

By now the dog should be used to having the brush touch him and find the experience more positive.
By feeding the treats every time you use the brush, the dog will soon come to associate treats with brushing and start to enjoy it.

The same principle applies for other things such as nail clippers, hair dryers etc.

Also is this a new occurrence? Has the dog been okay with it in the past? If that is the case then maybe check over his coat as he may have sores, bites or something like that, that causes him pain.
