Am I responsible to cover auto accident
I backed into a parked car. Guy did not want a police report. Now I'm getting an estimate from him for more than the car is worth. What are my rights.

You can either put the claim into your insurer or get your own estimate of the repair.

The other car was parked and you backed into it. So yes it is your fault, So why did you not call the police,
Yes, you have to pay, or turn it into your insurance.

If you can prove that the car is totalled, that should be the limit of your liability.

Just curious, how much were his estimates and what's the blue book on his car? Year, make and medel would be helpful too. I agree, you are not responsible for repairs above the totalled value.
