    What causes my knees to make a grinding sound when I bend my knee
    Started a few months ago. Doesn't hurt but makes a terrible grinding sound in both knees when walking stairs.

    Do you have metal or titanium rods in your knees?

    What type of physical activities do you participate in?

    I used to go to the gym three times a week and do tread mill and some light wieght lifting. I also did Karate twice a week but have stopped most physical activity about 9 months ago when I had to return to full time work as a nurse. I am 49 years old with no previous knee injuries
