I paid too much for a used car less than 24 hours ago. What can I do?
I wasn't sure about what the fair market value of the car was when I was at the dealer, so when I came home, I valued it on Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book and NADA. I paid at least $3000 over what they list as dealer retail based on the model I bought. The kicker is that the dealership had the exact car (same VIN number) listed on their website for $4000 less than what they charged me last night! What can I do?

Copy that ad. Make sure you print the screen to a printed page. Take it back and ask for your money back. Since we don't know where you live we can't tell you if your state has buyers remorse laws on the books. But I would take the printed page down there and if they refuse call the fair trades commission and file a complaint. That big of a difference is way too much for it to be taxes or a mistake.

I will say in most areas you are just out of luck, If you signed a sales contract, normally they are under no obligation to do anything. ** against most places, no idea of your exact location.

It is worth a try to ask for money back, but that is why you don't buy a car without research, you go look, and ghen go home and research, take sales adds with you, heck take a lap top with you and research it sitting in front of the sales person.

I agree with Califdadadof3 - if this was a commercial dealer then in your state you may well have recourse. Many states give you three days to rescind a contract with a professional car dealer. And if they advertised the same car for $4K less you have a good case. Be sure to get back to the dealership ASAP and ask to speak with the manager.
