    Could she be pregnant?
Its been two months since me and my girlfriend had sex. We used a condom. Right after we had sex she started birth control. Its been two months, and the other day she had to run to catch the bus, her tummy got sick so she threw up, and everyday since she has been puking on the bumpy ride. There is no increased sensitivity, and she hasn't been too moody. Could she be pregnant?

Yes. Sex = pregnancy. There is no form of birth control that is 100% effective.

Birth control pills have to be started BEFORE having sex to be effective.

Have her take a test using first morning urine.

Some women do experience bleeding (what they assume to be a period) during pregnancy, but most times a period would indicate that she's not pregnant.

If you really want to be certain than the only way to know for sure is to do what J9 suggested. Get her to take a pregnancy test using first morning urine.

Be prepared that pregnancy can happen if you're having sex, even with protection. There are women (some on this site) that have gotten pregnant while using 3 different forms of birth control. The only sure way to avoid pregnancy is to avoid sex.

Im 17 and she is the first girl I ever had sex with, and after this scare, if it turns out to be nothing, I think I will take your advise and just avoid sex until having kids can become an actual idea.

I'm pretty sure it will turn out to just be a scare, but no harm in getting a pregnancy test just to put both your minds at ease.

Waiting to have sex is a good idea. We get dozens of pregnancy questions on this site every day, and most of them are from young teens. It happens every day.

Sex is a lot better when you're old enough to afford a child, and mature enough to accept responsibility for that child.

I hope it all works out. Keep us posted. :)

Like J9 said, a missed period is usually the first sign. There are some women that have a "period" throughout their entire pregnancy, but unless she has other symptoms I wouldn't assume that that's what's going on here.

The thing is, pregnancy symptoms are very similar to many things. PMS and pregnancy symptoms are almost exactly the same. You said she's feeling nauseous. Well yes, that's a pregnancy symptom for some, but it's also a symptom of an upset stomach, food poisoning, flu and many other things.

Relying on symptoms isn't a great way to diagnose pregnancy because every pregnancy symptom, even a missed period, can be attributed to other things as well.

The only real way to know if she's pregnant is a pregnancy test or an ultrasound. You can get a pregnancy test over the counter, they're not that expensive, and it should put your mind at ease. There are also clinics you can go to for a pregnancy test. A blood test is more accurate, but I really don't think it's necessary for you two.

The bottom line is that she had her period. I'd be willing to put my neck on the line and say that the nausea she's experiencing is due to something else. But, by all means, if it will put your mind at ease, get a pregnancy test at the drug store. Make sure she uses it first thing in the morning and follows the instructions to the letter.

I'm not saying it's impossible that she's pregnant. Obviously the possibility exists because you two did have sex, but the likelihood of her being pregnant when she's had her period isn't that big.

She missed her first period right before Birth contol, but after that she has been having regular periods, does that factor into anything?
