    Older Trane furnace question
Happy New Year all, I came home from work this evening to find the temperature a little low in the house, went down to the basement and seen the pilot light was trying to relight the furnace box area, I did notice the blower did not come on and eventually the pilot light went back to what I'll call the idle position, I then went to the thermostat and tried the fan switch and turned it to on instead of auto, ran back downstairs and did not hear the blower on, now I removed the cover from the blower area and noticed a door switch, which is working, saw the capacitor on the side of the plenum, maybe this is bad, is there a quick check of this and how, I think the motor is gone, Last night I did hear the motor making a little noise, the squirrel cage does turn but not free wheel at all, how can I determine motor from capacitor or even the thermostat on the wall, getting a little chilly here, thanks in advance,. Dan
