I have taken 6 different brand name pregnancy test, i.e.. Fact Plus, First Response, Clearbue Digital, Answer, etc within 2 days and they were all positive. I went to a free clinic today that gives pregnancy tests and I was negative there. I came beck to work and took another HPT and it was positive. I am confused, am I pregnant?

If you followed the directions on the tests, and read them in the time frame stated, it would be very unusual to get a false positive. I hope being pregnant is good news for you.

Now it is time to get in contact with an OB or midwife to confirm and set up prenatal visits. Until you are seen, be sure to start taking prenatal vitamins and make any other healthy changes you know would be wise.

Thank you for the response. I did follow the instructions and the results came up within a minute or 2. I just didn't know if the test at the clinic may not have been correct. I would be very happy if I were pregnant! :)

Yes you are very likely pregnant, yayyy congratulations! Like Hoping28 said, false positives are rare, and 6 consecutive false positives by different brands would be extremely unlikely. It's much more likely that you got a false negative by the clinic test. :)

Lab mix ups are pretty common. It's entirely possible that the lab screwed up, which is why you got a negative at your doctors office. Been there, done that. Not with a pregnancy test, but a blood test on my daughter that said she had a staph infection when she didn't.

With 6 positives at home I'd be shocked if this wasn't just a mix up at the lab. So congrats. :)

Yes I often say you get what you pay for, but mix ups at free clinics are more common than you would think

Our mix up was at the hospital Chuck. Apparently it's quite common. Understandable, so many people, blood samples being taken. It's not hard to get them mixed up, or to contaminate the samples.

The thing is Sydney was brought in by ambulance, she was only 3, had a febrile convulsion, passed out, wouldn't wake up, scared the life out of me. After a few hours in the hospital she was fine, so they sent us home.

The next day we get a call asking us to come back in because her blood test came back showing a staph infection. She was fine at that time. I asked if they were sure because she's walking around, eating, no more fever, all good. He said that it must be a mix up then because she'd be really ill if it was staph. We had to bring her back for another blood test anyway, poor little thing. She was not happy.
