I have hot water upstairs for showers but the downstairs bathroom shower is only luke warm. Can anybody help me?

If its only that one fixture not giving hot water is likely a partially clogged hot inlet on the Mixer. I am assuming this is a one knob mixer, let me know if I am wrong

Is this a new issue that has recently developed or an old problem that has existed since you owned the place? If it is a new issue, then you may have an issue at the hot inlet/cartridge as Ballenger suggested.

If this is an existing issue since you owned the home your issue may be related to a temperature limiting device that is very common in single handle shower valves.

Is this a single handle shower or a two or three handle unit? Let us know more, OK. A name brand on the valve would help, too.

We finished the basement about 3 yrs ago and that's when it was noticed. We didn't do anything to the bathroom because it was already done and nothing was done with water. It is a single handle shower faucet made by delta and is a lever. Thank u

It is a one handle but is a lever that u turn if that matters. If it is a clog how do I unclog it? Thank u for taking the time

This is likely a mixer with a cartrdige or ball valve. Any chance you know the brand or style? Here is a generic set of instructions for a Moen. how to replace a moen cartridge - Google Search

Since you have a single lever faucet and it has been an issue since it was installed then the first thing to investigate is where on the faucet the TEMPERATURE LIMITING DEVICE (TLC) I mentioned is.

Usually, these TLCs are under the handle and are associated with a toothed gear for most Delta valves. Remove the handle and see if you see aything like that. If you do, take a couple minutes and study the relationship between the handle and the TLC... make adjustments as are appropriate.

Hopefully, that fixes all for you.

If you have difficult accessing or figuring out how the TLC works then pop back with a specific model name (not manufacturer, but model) or apicture of the valve and we can probably tell you more.

It says 1400 series on it. I took back plate off and around lever and the pipes are hard to see behind the shower wall insert but the pipes are in a plus sign meeting at the lever. They have metal finger type things coming off them.

As Mark suggested, there may be - and probably is - Anti-Scald ring installed beneath the handle. Remove handle, toss the ring and reinstall handle. Let us know how you did. Back to you. Milo

Thank you too all. I fixed it. There was a temp dial behind the lever handle on the faucet that I had to adjust. Again thanks to all for everything
