    How do I change my kid's last name to their fathers last name?

    I did this when I was young and I had to sign a statutory Declaration with the Justice of Peace. You should look into were your local offices are that do this. It's a simple form you have to fill out and sign in front of a witness and the county of the city. Then once this is done it will be finilised and legal.

    This must have been done a long time ago. Things are different now and both parents will have to agree and be there to sign papers. So long as both agree then it's a no brainer.

    Thank you for wanting to help, but you need to understand that a personal experience cannot always be applied to all situations. While what you did may have worked in Scotland, it wouldn't work in any US state and many other countries.
