Help with 1930's swing:Kiss me sweet/simple
There is a lost song (at least I can't find it) that was pressed on a 78 that I used to listen to at a neighbors house in the 1950's, and it was old then!
Then, my parents moved, and I've been looking for the song ever since.
The melody followed a classical comosition, but the words were pop-song-cutsy, stolen from a little children's poem or jump rope chant.
The female vocalist was a Marta Tilton type band vocalist, band could have been anyone from Glenn Miller to Kay Kaiser.
Kiss me sweet, kiss me simple
Kiss me on my little dimple
Kiss me sweet Kiss me simple
Kiss my little cares away
Kiss me night, kiss me morning
Kiss me underneath the awning (NO, it doesn't REALLY rhyme)
Kiss me sweet Kiss me simple
Kiss my little cares away
I think the melody came from "The Three Cornered Hat", or maybe something in the opera "Carmen". I have heard the classical melody played very fast with trumpets. This pop version was a very slow swing/dance beat.
It's only been fifty five years that this thing has been in the back of my mind, so there is no rush, but any help appreciated!

Marta Tilton's spelling was wrong.
Try "Martha Tilton", "Kiss me sweet" in Google search. It will lead you to a lot of hits.

http://www.amazon.com/Kiss-Me-Sweet/dp/B000QNYZT8 composed in 1924. There's also a very nice modern recording by Steve Pistorius from New Orleans, it's the title track of one of his albums.

Also, when thinking about rhymes, you have to remember: most Tin Pan Alley songwriters (OK, this is a broad generalization, but not totally out of reason) were New Yorkers of Jewish heritage. Heavily accented voices, and "mawning" would rhyme with "awning", right? Irving Berlin rhymed "saw" "door" and "law" (saaaar, dahr, lahr would do it).

I'm 17. I've been dating this guy for 6 months. We've gotten comfortable to being pretty intimate with each other... We're a pretty touchy-feely couple.. and that's cool - I've never felt so close before.
Haha except you'll laugh when I say - we've never kissed! Now, let me say - none of it...

Please, somebody answer Anon's question because I have the same problem. I just don't know what to do and funny that I want my first one to be fantastic and unforgettable while I don't know the smallest thing about this whole thing. Watching other people doing it doesn't help!
