Las Vegas NV. Someone who is on probation is living in my house and has not been here
The last 2 nights. This person was originally convicted of a GM including PSV and was released on probation. This initial probation was very lax and did stipulate staying in this house as long as the person called in. Then was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol being under 21 and so is a probation violation. Now the level of probation has been escalated including having to be here overnight.
Yet the last 2 nights this person has wilfully made a point of not being here. Because a crime has been committed, probation violation, what is the level of my responsibility? Do I HAVE to report it? Do I face any criminal charges for knowing that a crime is being committed and not reporting it?
Please can someone help me and let me know - A worried Mom

    Hello mom:

You are not required to snitch on your son... In fact, I wouldn't do it.

    PS> Violating probation ISN'T a crime.

But he can be arrested for it and incarcerated. To allow him to knowingly and willingly do so just seems wrong.

    Hello again, gig:

So, your answer is to make SURE he gets arrested and incarcerated?? THAT seems wrong. Look. He can hang himself if he chooses... But, I wouldn't be the one who called the cops... He'll NEVER forgive you, and I don't blame him.

If he needs HELP, then get him HELP... There is NO help in jail.. There's only misery.

I would totally agree under normal circumstances, but he is making my life more of a sentence than his because of his own stupidity. All because he will not complete what little education he has left to do, and refuses to try and find a job...

    Hello again, g:

All the MORE reason NOT to snitch on him... Your post tells me that you KNOW it's more YOUR problem than his.
