For the last couple of weeks I've been very throughing mostly in mornings and late evening. I've had the iud put in over a year ago but I can't help but think I'm pregnant. I've had abdominal pain, tender breasts, sense of smell hightened and all day headaches. I took a home pregnancy test but came back negative. Should I take another test, could it be stress causing my symptoms. (I have been under a lot of stress) I've even gained some weight in stomach area, I feel so bloated. Pease put my mind at ease...

Pregnancy does occasionally happen with an IUD, no birth control will be 100% effective. You could certainly try another test... following the directions exactly.

Other than that, since periods can be altered with an IUD so you can't always use the lack of a period as a possible pregnancy sign, best way to put your mind at ease would be to see your doctor for a pregnancy test there. They will do a urine test in office, but you can also discuss the possibility of a blood test and even an ultrasound to ease your mind.
