    Adopting a child
    Do you need a s.s. card to adopt your step child because my husband is a non citized and we are married and I want him to adopt them they have no father but him for the past 4 yr

    Your husband does not need to be a citizen to adopt, but he DOES need to be here legally.

    You DO need the biological father's consent for an adoption to happen.
