    Mold in stand up shower
I have a stand up shower in my bathroom.. the house that I have just purchased seems to be very well built... but my fiancé has recently noticed some black spotted mold in my stand up shower along the walls and down in the drain. Other than gutting the entire shower to put up new barriers what else could I do to prevent this from happening. My fiancé is a clean freak and its really bothering her.

Treat the area with bleach. After using shower dry walls and base. Leave exhaust fan, if u have one, on to remove steam (moisture) from room.

This will help but may not stop mold completely.

    Hi guys:

Run the fan, always when using the shower and for a spell afterward as Chuck recommended.

Treat the area with a 20% bleach solution on a weekly basis... no need for stronger solution... ;) Mix a spray bottle full and just leave it in/next to the shower and spray liberally once a week.

What kind of stand up shower stall is this? Fiberglass, acrylic, or tile... let us know, OK?

When you tell us that we can tell you more...
