I am trying to hard to get pregnant.
I have been having unprotected sex with my partner for almost 8 months, and I have not had even an ounce of luck. We try different positions all the time and nothing seems to work and I don't know why. Is the fact that her is 36 a reason? Can he not reproduce anymore? He has a kid now (with his ex) but somehow its not working for us :( I want a baby NOW! Please help. Tips and suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

Trying to get pregnant FAST! :(
Me and my boyfriend have been have unprotected sex for about 8 months. We used to have sex about 4 times a week. And now we are trying at 3... Could his age (36) be a factor why it isn't working? We try all sorts of positions and every time I think we did good, that time of the month comes. Should I try prenatals? I need tips and advice PLLLLLZ! :(

You can always go to the doctor for fertility testing for both of you, just to verify that you have no problems. There is a great book you can get from the library called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" (can't remember the author's name but it's on Amazon) which could help you. You might be timing sex just a little bit wrong for your particular cycle, for example, and the book can help you figure that out quickly.

Thank you so much! Yah, he has had a kid from a previous relationship but that was 11 years ago... So I hope he isn't shooting blanks now :( Lol.

It could also be that you are trying to hard hun, if something is always on your mind and is causing you stress it can delay if not stop your periods for a couple of cycles. This sounds really strange but have you tried lifting your bum and legs in the air for a short while after having sex? I tried this and conceived near enough straight away and I know a few others it worked for. Don't get me wrong I can't say its scientifically proven or anything but just a tip that worked for me :)

It may just be a matter of needing more time. If you are having sex every other day or so, you should have the timing down pretty well. But timing is only part of the picture.
Taking prenatals while trying to become pregnant would be wise... not because they would help you become pregnant but because the folic acid in them is important in helping to prevent certain birth defects that can occur in early pregnancy. They can also act as a bit of insurance if your diet is not the best.
Your boyfriend having had a child does not guarantee that there isn't a possible concern now, however it would be premature to jump to the conclusion that there is anything wrong with either of you. Most couples will become pregnant in the first year of trying, but some will naturally take longer and all is well.
What have you done to try and determine when you are most likely ovulating? There are a number of means to give you a general idea.
Do either of you have any health concerns? For example, diabetes, high blood pressure? Do either of you smoke? These types of things can sometimes play a role in fertility.

Just because a man fathers one child doesn't mean he automatically has great sperm quality. Also, some men who have already had children get a vasectomy and they would indeed be shooting blanks. That's probably not the case here if he's on board with starting a new family, however it does happen that a man keeps this secret. For some guys, it's the best of both worlds--no more kids and a woman who wants to have sex all the time. You don't say your age, but if you're under 35 I'd give it a whole year, otherwise I'd have some tests done. While most men will balk at having a semen analysis done, it really is good to get done in the early stages because all testing on women in uncomfortable, and if you do have male factor infertility it narrows down your available options for treatment. Best of luck to you!
