    15-20 amp recept.
    Can I replace a 15 amp recpt to a 20 amp recpt.:confused:

    You can ONLY if the wiring to the outlet is #12 wire, otherwise you take a chance of overloading the wire that is connected to the outlet.

    If the circuit is a 15 amp circuit amp, then the wire is most likely #14. Using a 20 amp receptacle would allow a 20 amp appliance to be pulged into a circuit that could not handle the amp load, and overheat.
