Medical bills in collections for boating accident. Now I have bad credit.
I was in a boating accident and rushed to the ER. The accident was the other boaters fault. He was ticketed and then his insurance company settled with me. They covered my medical bills and pain and suffering. However, during the settlement process my medical bills went into collections. Even though these bills were later paid off in full, my credit score is ruined. Can I do something about this? I don't feel like my credit score should be effected for this. Any suggestions?
