Me and my boyfriend have been dating for about 4 months. I've never felt this way about any guy before. He makes me laugh and makes me feel beautiful and I just love being with him. About 2 months into the relationship, he kind of traced an I love you sign on me and I said that I loved him back. Then about 3 weeks later he drew an ' I <3 u' sign on my hand and I said I love you back to him but he never SAYS it to me. Does it make a difference that he would never say it to me? And although he does make me feel good about myself, I sometimes feel that he doesn't get me and sometimes there is no conversation. The silence makes me feel really uncomfortable but for him it might be normal. I want to talk to him about it but I'm worried that he might think I'm insecure or just plain girly. I don't know, what are your opinions? Am I just worrying myself over nothing or should I talk to him? I'm 21 by the way.

It sounds like you are overthinking this. Men are an entirely different species from women. We chatter; they don't say anything. We clean up; they make messes. We put our emotions out there; they don't say anything.

Yes, I think you're insecure and need regular assurance from him that he cares about you. Relax! Calm down! Women talk about their feelings; men do things to show their feelings.

He sounds like a super catch. Don't blow this by driving him away.

It's really hard to have a lasting relationship, a healthy relationship, when you don't even feel you can talk to the person you're with.

It sounds to me like you're scared to talk to him. Scared that revealing how you feel will make him run.

Communication is the most important part of a relationship. He can make you feel amazing. He can draw happy faces and I love you signs all over your body, but, if you can't talk to him than what's the point?

If you want this to work, to last, than you can't be afraid to be who you are. You can't be afraid to tell him how you feel. Sharing your thoughts and feelings will make a solid relationship grow.

In other words. Talk to him. Tell him how you feel. If he's a keeper he'll listen, and your relationship will grow. If he walks away than you'll know that you need to find someone else.

Its only been 4 months, so just relax, and learn his language. Would you feel better if he wrote your name on his butt?? Listen with your heart, not just your ears. Eventually he will learn your language, but just remember females are smarter than males, so it will take him longer is all.

I thought all you females knew that?!

Tal, sometimes we're just as confused about you males as you guys are about us females. ;)

You all aren't as easy to figure out as you think. ;)
