    Household central heater
    I'm told that if condensation collects in the vent exhaust pipe it will shut the central heater off. Why?

Central heat and AC unit worked fine this morning; cycled on and off when temperature dropped in home. Now it's getting much colder and unit won't come on. Tried setting thermostat on "blower" and it came on; blew cold air only. Set it back on Automatic and Heater and nothing! Please help!

Heater does not go on after switching on the thermostat to heat. Only hitting the top of the heater firmly will it to go on. Any thoughts why it's not going on as it should from the thermostat controls?
