Any chance something got dropped in the commode? Often an object will get caught in the trap built into the toilet and possibly out of sight at the top of the trap. This allows liquid to free flow but tends to catch paper and waste. If you can get one of those inspection mirrors on a flexible shaft you can lay it in the bottom of the toilet and look up into the trap. Snaking can help if the object isn't too large. I've seen pill bottles, combs, pens and a cell phone clogging a toilet this way. If snaking doesn't help, you may have to pull the stool.
