What is the rating of the fuse or breaker that controls the dryer? A few very small apartment type dryers are 120V but almost all dryers are 120/240, 30 AMP, AWG 10, 3 or 4 prongs on the plug connected to the power block on the dryer, count the wires. The dryer cord should be marked with the AWG rating 10/3 or 10/4.
