    I am just starting my cleaning business and wondering what all I will need...
    I have my EIN number and I have a contract with a apartment complex and am looking to exspand yet have limited knowledge on what to do to get the business going. I am looking into a web page,Craigs list my local area mailing lists, and a yelp account. As far as insurance I don't know what type I will need. My business is based out of my home, also I don't know what to keep for tax purposes. Any suggestions.

    Sure. Hire a CPA. He'll set up your books for you and show you how to keep basic records. He'll get you started down the right track.. He'll know about your insurance needs too. He shouldn't charge much for this consultation, because he knows he'll make his money down the road doing your business taxes.

    Who knows? Maybe he needs HIS office cleaned too.

    Since you are already incorporated your basic need for insurance is liability insurance. Normally when you start a business this can be a higher cost than normal because you have no business track record however if things go well this cost will come down.

    Do you have your equipment and supplies all lined up?

    Starting a new cleaning business is time excessive but you get out of it what you put into it. When I started mine 17 years ago there were times that I went without sleep for three days. Working the jobs at night and selling/business during the day.
