    Honda Harmony 1011 Transmission problems.
Does a Honda Harmony 1011 hydro trans have any place to put in transmission oil?
Does it need any type of service? Had the mower just stop on me and grind. If it does what type would it need? Thanks in advance

    Hi,
While you can get owners manuals online for your machine, the transmission is not discussed. The grinding sounds ominous. You will have to cozy up to a Honda dealer to get any answers.
    Peace,

Thanks for your answer. I have cozyied up to a dealer, He told me the transmission was shot. Then I brought it home and let it sit for a while while the engine ran and it started to creap forward and backward. Eventually it ran and I have used this metod each time I started it. I have cut the grass 3 times. Now I want to fix it if possiable. It is in extreamy great shape and the engine has very low miles on it. Thant is why I am directed to the oil ?
    Thanks again

There's a black cap on top of the back of the transmission.
Pop that out and you can put in fluid.
Raise the rear off ground and run after you fill this will let any air bubbles go down.
Move lever back and forth for about ten minutes or so.

Thanks Dg found the black cap with a red center but it is close to being under the seat and the belt is in the way. Will be difficult to get off and get the trans fluid in. Will try and let you know.
    Thanks again

There is no way to access the cap without dropping the deck and back cover. There seems to be fluid all over the transaxel shaft on the one side of the wheel(s).

    DG & irwinjoe,
I just bought a Harmony this weekend with the same problems I think.
I found that both nuts/bolts on the right side of the transmission at the axle were very loose and oil was leaking from them. I'm sure my problem is low fluid.
    My question it this:
What fluid should I put back in, and how much?

I went to a Honda power equipment dealer today and they couldn't answer that question for me.
I waiting until tomorrow so they can call the factory and find out.
I've searched the internet for hours and I'm shocked that I can't find this information.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.
