    Identity theft?
Hey I don't know if I'm in the right thread if I'm not please move it to the proper category. Thanks

The problem is, I recently lost my driver's license and I'm afraid someone might have picked it up and steal my identity and misuse it. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

In the US you can notify the credit reporting agencies, asking that you be notified if anyone opens a new account, applies for credit in your name. There is a charge but it would probably be worth your peace of mind.

I don't know just what a person can do with just a driver's license, though.

Most states have prevented your SSN from being on your license, so you should be alright; however, if you're over 21, you might find your ID was sold to a minor to obtain alcohol or whatever floats their boat. Judy is right; they cannot accomplish much with a license. Do contact your financial institutions for "suspicious" activity, and they would notify you of anything!! GL!
