    In The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Episode 2, which aired on September 24, 2010, the focus is on Caroline who starts realizing the drawbacks to her new life. Not going out during the day has incapacitated her social life, her personality flaws are amplified and hanging out with her boyfriend Matt has become strained. Taking Caroline under his wing Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) decides to teach her the ways of feeding off forest animals instead of humans. But first, she needs a Day Walking Ring.

    Stefan convinces the local teen witch Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham), to cast a Day Walking spell on a ring which will allow Caroline to walk the high school hallways and streets of Mystic Falls when the sun is out
