    What's the difference between exanding and evaluating summation equations?
    I've been working on a practice assignment for a while now, and can't figure out the difference between the two. It's just practice, not graded. It's a pre-chapter assignment, and I have no idea what I am doing.

    To evaluate means to find what the sum converges to.

    Do you have a specific problem in mind?

    For instance, if we were to evaluate:

    , we would find its sum is 1/9.

    No, it's not really the problems themselves.. It's understand what I am doing? I don't know if that makes sense, I can do the problems.. But don't understand the definitions of what I am doing.. Does that make sense?
