Our landlord served us a notice that they needed to come into all suites to spray for bedbug. That's fine we complied with their requests to move our furniture and wash and bag all our clothing the move all personal belongings onto kitchen table and counter or in the bathtub. We were only given 24 hours notice to clear out all of our belongings. When the company came in to spray the told us our suite was not prepared properly because we still had a couple boxes on a shelf in the closet and did not remove light switch covers. The notice said the room must be 75 % prepared or we would have to rebook another time. I beilieve that we were more then 75 % prepared. We spoke with other tenants if the suite was being lived in it was not sprayed no one living here got sprayed only the vaccant suites were sprayed. We were then served a notice (the day before Christmas) that they would be returning to spray again. We were to prep our suite and the landlord would come to inspect the suite to see if it was prepared enough. If the landlord felt it wasn't they were going to return the next day and move our personal belongings themselves and charge us for time and labour is this allowed? Essecially when We were more then preped last time. This is not the first time people have sprayed where we live and with other companies we have never had a problem only now with this company and these new owners. On top of it all my father is paying 300 plus dollars more then any other tenant in the building. Can they really come into our suite and move our items just because they feel it is not empty enough? Or prepared even though we complied with everything on their list given?

It is not your place to remove light switch covers, and they should be paying you for your work to prepare and all costs for preparing this.

If they do move your things, they would not charge you, and have to put them back

I mean when they send in people to clean carpets, they move the furniture

The short answer is yes. They are trying to protect you from infestation. The only thing that might be unreasonable is the lack of sufficient time to prepare.
