    Can't get beyond windows is starting up is there any way to cure this?
    I have tried last good setup, safe mode and the like and still it won't get past this point I tried changing ram places as well still no result also if I format my hard drive will I have to reinstall windows? I lost my disk and if not how do I do this without getting beyond windows is starting up please help

    Have you actually gotten into safe mode? Did you prees the f8 key to get into safe mode?
    If the problem just started, make sure your computer isn't very hot. I've had the same problem before and was not able to get past the start up screen because the computer was hot.

    Hey love yes I did the F8 thingy no result and the computer isn't hot just makes a lot of noise when it can't get past it when I enter to go in safe mode a black screen comes up and then windows is starting up screen again it sticks there.

    If you format your Hard Disk then yes you will have to reinstall your operating system!

    So you can or cannot get into safe mode?

    Do you have any discs? Recovery or retail OS disc (if you installed it post mnfgr)

    Oh and if I have a cd can I burn an OS onto it from online?

    Sorry not a OS I mean the thing that fixes the drive ummmm I don't know what it's called but it checks the drive and repairs it BART something? Please help and isn't there a function key that checks the drive and repairs it?

    Bart's PE Builder helps you build a "BartPE" (Bart Preinstalled Environment) bootable Windows CD-Rom or DVD from the original Windows OS installation/setup CD.

    i.e... you don't have any disks!

    As far as the function key... no. There are commands but /scannow requires the CD and you can't open the command prompt regardless can you?

    My mom can get me windows 7 and the XP CD what then? Right now I'm using my first desktop and my mom is using my laptop cause it is her CPU I messed up what do I do after getting the XP disk?
