    Default on mortgage holding
    I am holding a mortgage for some friends on my home . They have run into financial trouble and have not paid in months. How long will it take me to get the house back?

    It depends on the laws of your state and can take months. Some states give the defaulting homeowner a lot of time, including after the foreclosure is complete and they have been evicted.
    You need to file papers at your city hall ASAP if you haven't.
