Why do hunters wear bright orange to keep from getting shot at when most of their target practice is done on bright orange target stickers?

Because if they wore deer color clothing in the woods they would get shot.

Orange is for high visibility.

Perhaps animal right groups should paint deer orange during hunting season to protect them.

But seriously a hunter is not looking for, or using targets when they hunt, and a real hunter has the training and skills to know they don't shut unless they clearly see a target

What you're saying is this:
Hunters use orange targets. So you are wondering why they wear orange because they may be mistaken for a target. Is this correct?

To answer you're question I am going to piggyback off Fr_chuck's response.

First off, hunters are taught to only shoot at what they clearly see. Secondly, if they didn't put the target there they're not going to shoot at it. Hunters are aware of their targets and practice is done usually before season. To avoid this exact situation!

I understand this is highly visible but when you teach children to hunt they get the instinct to shoot at orange targets, right. Why don't they make them bright pink or yellow or some other color than the same color that individuals use to stop shooting? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but after shopping today at a local hunting shop I noticed these bright orange hats next to bulk of bright orange targets in various types. ( and FR_Chuck they did have targets for bow hunters that were bright orange deer! Serious! ) Maybe this all is a male thing that I will yet again never understand.

Actually no, I seldom use "orange targets" and I never teach children to shoot at some color, they are taught to properly site in a weapon at a specific target,

If they are going to be going hunting, I would always use a target shaped like the animal, so they can learn the proper place to shot. You don't just shoot a deer anywhere, theree are specific places you shoot at.

It is a matter of proper hunter education and not allowing anyone not mature enough to hunt.

In hunters training as well as military training we are taught to use proper site picture & perfect site alignment. We don't shoot until everythings clear and we are sure of what we are shooting at and where we are shooting.

As mentioned above the time it take to aim in on these specific spots on a deer is enough time to realize that it is in fact a deer and it's OK to shoot. We don't just start shooting ebcause we see deer.

P.S. I have never shot at an orange target except for clay pigeons. And if I ever saw a hunter flying I'd probably shoot him just to ask him how he learned to fly ;)
