    Remote and fan turns on by itself.
    My fan has a remote for for on and off and different speeds and controls. The fan has a mind of it's own. It turns on by itself

    It is possible your neighbor has a fan remote on the same frequency and yours is picking up the signal, you can change most remotes and receiver frequency's by moving the "dip sticks" to a different configuration. This is a common problem with wireless doorbells.
