I live with a drunk
When I am at my dads a man named Trever Young[not real name] lives there. He has severe drinking problems and I have seen him have seizures on several occations. Every morning I streach and I make him strech with me. Also instead of letting him drink his favorite wiskey, I make only drink beer so he gets of hard liqiour. Also I yell at him every day for him to go to a detox center or at least the hospital so they can get some fluids in his system.
I was just wondering is what I am doing right or should I be doing something different?

How old are you?
If he has a drinking problem and is trying to get sober then he needs to not drink at all. It doesn't matter if it's beer or whiskey. It's still alcohol. And if he's having seizures than he needs to see a doctor and will probably need some professional help getting sober, more than you can give him alone.

If he has a drinking problem he needs to seek help on his own. There is nothing you can do to help him until he is ready for help.
If he is drinking so much that he is having seizures detoxing him can be risky at home. He should be hospitalized. Did you know that alcohol is the only drug that the withdrawals can actually kill you?

I am not trying to detox him at home and we are trying to get him into a detox center but they won't take him in because he does not want to go.

Even if you got him in one, he won't get sober until he wants to.
An alcoholic has to hit rock bottom and want to get sober.
There is nothing you or anyone else can do until he is ready to give up the drink.

If he stops drinking at one time his body won't be used to not having alcohol and will shut down and he will die

"If he stops drinking at one time his body wont be used to not having alchol and will shut down and he will die"
The immediate cessation of alcohol (cold turkey) can have serious consequences for chronic alcoholics. On the other hand continuing to drink has it's own set of equally serious results, irreversible liver damage, heart attacks, strokes.
The only safe alternative is medically supervised detoxification. That doesn't necessarily have to be in a hospital setting. Some addiction specialists offer these services from their offices. Out-patient detox is often more acceptable to the patient than in-patient. But the key is a qualified addiction specialist not a primary care doctor.
There is another treatment called the Sinclair Method which has been widely used in Finland for several decades with notable success and gained increasing attention in the medical literature. This method works with the drinking alcoholic to reduce consumption via the use of specific drugs.
Regardless of the treatment intervention you will still need the participation and consent of the drinker as noted by the others.
