    I want light brown hair, but I keep getting it reddish... help.
    Hi. I have been coloring my hair for a few years. I want a nice light brown color (buying Ion at Sallys), but I am getting a reddish tint to it, Actually, almost Ronald McDonaldish.
    I was told that I could use a ash brown after I color my hair on the roots and let is sit for about 15 minutes. Is this possible to take out the red tones? Thank you!

    Use a toner that has a neutral base instead of a yellow or gold base.
