I have purchased two Honeywell non programmable thermostats (RTH 110B) to replace older model Rheem thermostats, the problem is that the old thermostats have more wires that the new model has terminals? The old thermostats have the following: white on W2, yellow on Y, green on G, red on R, brown on X, and blue on D with empty spaces on E, L and B.

How would you connect the six wires to a five wire system? Or do I need to return the items and purchase different replacements?

Thermostat that you have bought is - RTH110B

Old stat:- Rheem
System:- On the basis of wiring it seems to me that it is a Heat Pump with Em heat (I am not aware whether it is electric or GFA (I am talking about the auxiliary unit))
Wires:- 6
Terminals Wired:- W2,Y,G,R,X,D (It will be O not D Check it again)
Unwired: - E, L and B.

Resolution:- This thermostat RTH110B is not compatible with heat pump... You can Get RTH7500 or RTH7600D ^& wiring on this Thermostat will be W2-Aux*E,Y-Y,G-G,R-R*Rc,X-C,D/(O)-O/B... And you will have to set Function 0170-7,0190-0 & 0270-9 (If back up source of heating is electric)
