    Vacated when lease expired, did not give notice, responsible for 1 month rent?
    Lease expired 10/30/10. Moved out at the end of my lease, but did not give landlord a 30 day notice. She is charging me for 1 month rent. Am I responsible?? Minnesota

    What does your original paperwork state about renewal? That will give you a clue as to what is going on. If it states 30 days notice to renew or decline and you didn't give it or if it has automatic renewal then you can be on the hook for the monies.

    It certainly is possible. As Califdad said it depends on the terms of your lease. The lease may have required 30 day notice of non-renewal. Or 30 day notice to vacate, even with the lease expiring. It might even have an automatic renewal clause that could make you responsible for another year.

    IT is common that the lease either renews or goes to a month to month ( I seldom see one that just "ends") but as noted it will depend on the exact terms of your lease.

    But many leases actually renew and you would be liable for an entire new lease if you did not give notice.
